Aaja Nachle!

Yeah, its about Madhuri comeback movie!
Anybody who has a penchant for dance and music will surely love it(and if you are really human you will definitely have some inclination for dance and music). Madhuri, no doubt is a genius in her field, and she has reserved a seat under those Indian actresses who can carry the ratings of a movie on their shoulders. Carrying herself so perfectly in all the spheres, dance, emotions, expressions, and that too after a long break needs lots of hard work.
What I want to discuss in Womenfolk , is not about the movie ratings, or acting but about the key of the story line. Every female character of the movie has a similar want of expression of their individuality in form of music, acting or dance, whether it was the wife of the government officer, or wife of the businessman, or the young girl who was in search of love. Its the inner need of joy and fulfillment which they get after exploring their khubiyan. Just think when you danced last time how u felt? Wasn’t there a feeling of joy, and relaxement. I want to just express the positive influence of dance on any individual. Dance, drama, singing are the form of art which really helps you to express you better because it makes you self aware. Everybody should try to have some form of hobby in their life. Having hobbies in the form of dance or singing helps out to bring the real self of yours. Everybody gets involved in day to day life routine so much that they forget the feeling of joy and self expression in form of such arts. I consider it very important to be always related to any such form of hobby to be in touch of the real self of you.
No-matter how much successful you are in your field, how much money you have for worldly pleasures, or you have achieved a very high post in your work, if you are not in touch of these forms of arts you are really missing something in life. Grab this opportunity of expressing and knowing yourself better. I myself am so much inspired that I am looking forward to join any dance classes likes of Shiamak Davar . So what are you waiting for, aaja nachle!
Ready-to-eat food vs. home cooked food!
December 1, 2007
With changing times eating habits are also changing!
Initially it was readymade mixture for dosa, idli, gulabjamun, dhokle, which saved our time in arranging material to prepare these dishes. Companies like MTR, Haldiram, Kohinoor, Ashoka have flooded the processed food market with so many food items that sometimes after window shopping the ready-to-eat section of any supermarket you question the importance of cooking habit at home. Chole, rajma, paneer, dal fry, even aloo matar and pulao, every other dish is available today in the read-to-eat food section in all supermarkets. Thanks to the companies like Haldiram, MTR, Kohinoor and many others upcoming companies, who are trying to cover the preparation of whole list of food items. The bachelor section is the happiest one to get benefits from these companies. As they stay alone, so often they miss home made food. The readymade food section has helped to fulfill the choice of their taste buds, which ranges from so many different places. Not only the bachelors but husbands having working wife have not to be dependent on them to pacify their taste buds. The Ready-to-eat industry of Indian foods is taking off, thanks in part to the demand from global Indians, NRIs and others looking for convenient food, (almost) authentic dishes and entrée on the go. This demand for ready-to-eat meals has captured a large amount of the food retail market in India and around the world. Walk in into any desi grocery shop in North America and one can find a wide assortment of emerging desi brands. Interestingly, the technology for this industry, at least for Indian players has taken off from the Defense Food Research Laboratory, Mysore — Military Meals Ready a.k.a. MRE’s, MREs — that works towards getting “just-cooked” freshness to Indian soldiers!
One view of looking at this ready-to-eat food is that it helps to fulfill the taste of bachelors, soldiers, and even NRIs.But is Indian kitchen really prepared to welcome it. Indian eating habits are very different fro the rest of the world. Its in India only where home cooked food is still given the importance. People carry tiffin to offices, kids carry tiffin to schools. Cookery classes are still followed up by girls during their vacations and people still look forward of having variety of food cooked at home.If every woman is relaxed of having all the cooked food in her kitchen shelves and least bothered about cooking at home then imagine what will happen. It will be bring India also in under such category of countries where everybody eats ready-to-eat food. Kitchens will be just like a decorative corner of your house and age old recipes of various dishes will loose their existence as recently happening in Korea. In South Korea, 65 percent of women confessed they do not know how to make kimchi, a traditional dish, as it is available in the market. It is made of fermented and spiced vegetables even have a museum devoted to it. Same thing can happen in our country if we become solely dependent on ready-to-eat food. It won’t be strange after sometime that nobody remembers how to prepare those sweets and ladoos and other traditional dishes.
Experiments with food will continue and that will add fun to it. It’s the matter of making your life easier and hassleless. You can go to restaurants and have your food, you can order the restaurants to deliver food, and now you can just open your favorite dish packet and microwave it before serving. But always remember, nothing can replace the taste of home made food. Choice is yours of course!
