Maggi Zindabad!

August 19, 2007

Maggi was simply an instant noodle for me until I went overseas!

Considered as a junk food by elderlies of the house maggi has always had its fans in all age groups. Childhood memories take me back to the time when it was fun trying new recipies from maggi and doing lots of experiments with it. But the real Indian fan crowd I found was in foreign countries, where Indians go for work purpose. As the weight to carry in other countries is limited ,  portion of the luggage is always fixed for maggi packets by many Indian travellers. Because it is cheap here and it can be used as  a major filler for your hunger, specially when you are alone in an alien country with alien language and alien food. Nowadays there are apartment rooms available in hotels where cooking range is provided which can be used according to your own choice. In such case when you are late from office maggi comes to your rescue to give you taste of your own food. During one such visit only I realized the true value of maggi.Being a vegetarian it was tough for me to get food of my taste. Then only real interest in maggi aroused in me and I came to know the details of maggi.Maggi is a Nestlé brand of instant soups, stocks, ketchups and instant noodles. It was founded by the Maggi family in Switzerland in the 19th century, and merged with Nestlé in 1947.

The alimentary company came into existence in 1872 in Switzerland, when Julius Maggi took over his father’s mill. It quickly became a pioneer of industrial food production, aiming at the improvement of the nutrition of worker families. It was the first to bring protein-rich legume meal to the market, which was followed by ready-made soup based on legume meal in 1886.

In eastern countries I have observed many professionals going gaga after maggi. So if you are travelling eastern countries professionally make sure you make space for maggi dear. You will only understand its worth when you are there so bon vo
yage.
